Cool beginnings is my way of describing my entrance into the wonderful world of online social media activity. Who knew it would be this much fun?
There is certainly a lot to learn! I remember how I felt at first- daring to tread in new waters, without a life-jacket, so to speak. I jumped in, & learned to swim ( not “with the sharks” as I worried, but with a whole new world of friends and future acquaintances). The world is definitely becoming a smaller place, day-by-day.
Be like my beautiful butterfly. Flitter around, or better yet, make that Twitter around .

Check out this neat little Twittervision application!
It shows where people are in real time, all over the world! How cool is that??
Happy learning. See you online!

Here are some online options for you, from Sarah Shemkus at http://www.capecodonline.com
By : Sarah Shemkus
- Facebook and MySpace: Social networking sites on which users create personal profiles and link to the profiles of friends and interest groups
- LinkedIn: Similar to Facebook and MySpace, but more focused on career achievements, job searching and professional networking
- Twitter: A service that allows people to use their phone or computer to send short updates (no more than 140 characters) about themselves – called “tweets” – and receive similar messages from friends. Users can also choose to “follow” other users: Whenever one person sends a tweet, it is sent to all these followers
- Flickr: Photo-sharing Web site that allows users to upload, organize, comment on and share images
- Digg:A site on which users post stories, blog items and other content, which is then rated by those who visit the site. Outside sites can also include a “Digg” icon, allowing users to recommend content. Content that receives positive feedback is featured more prominently on the page
- Blogs: Online journals, generally displaying the newest content first, that allow users to announce events, offer commentary, link to other sites and post pictures
Good luck!
